Our Goal
The Scottish Casualties Network (SCN) is a
voluntary organisation that is
dedicated to the portrayal of realistic, reacting casualties to help in the
training of first aid, emergency response and care staff / volunteers. We were
founded to provide a service to training organisations and statutory bodies
not available in many parts of Scotland.
SCN members are skilled in wound simulation,
role-play, technical acting and
physiological roles. We have accurately portrayed roles ranging from CVA
(stroke) and heart attacks, severe bleeding, shock, burns and fractures to
learning difficulties, Alzheimer's and Parkinson's Disease, as the training
provider requires.
These skills have allowed us to assist in the
training of individuals and
groups involved in home care, care homes, emergency response roles and
disaster rescue. We have also aided in the delivery and assessment of S/NVQ
candidates by providing simulations to allow for assessment against set
criteria. These skills have proven to be perfect for use during the
induction of new staff or for the improvement of skills for existing staff.
